Have you ever wished you could reload your Touch ‘n Go card at any time? Well your wish has been granted.

Touch n’ Go (“TNG”) Group has recently announced the launch of the new and improved Touch ‘n Go card, which can now be reloaded any time from anywhere with the use of the TNG eWallet app. Reloads made using the app will incur no surcharges, eliminating the need for users to go out of their way just to top up their credit.

The minimalistic design new cards boasts higher encryption for better security. This is in addition to being tied to a TNG eWallet account, adding an additional layer of security.

“We’re so pleased to be able to bring this to market, addressing the most common pain point for users of our cards – reload inconvenience. With this enhanced card offering, our users can now choose to obtain a card that they can reload anytime or anywhere from their Touch ‘n Go eWallet app on their mobile phones. There will also be no reload surcharges levied for the use of this service,” said Effendy Shahul Hamid, Group CEO of Touch ‘n Go Group.

The new cards are available for purchase at RM10, the exact same price as the older Touch ‘n Go cards. You can pick them up from selected retail locations nationwide. Alternatively, you can also order the cards online via the TNG app and have it shipped to your doorstep.

Upon receiving the new card, users can link it to their TNG eWallet account. This is a straightforward process. For NFC-compatible smartphones, users will just need to hold the card to the back of the phone for five seconds to activate the new card. Alternatively, users can manually link the card by opening their TNG eWallet app, select the ‘TNG Card’ option, and add the card from there. Once linked, users can view the balance on the card and reload it as they see fit. The function is currently available for both iOS and Android devices, and users can link up to 5 Touch ‘n Go cards to their Touch ‘n Go eWallet.

According to Effendy, demand for the new cards is expected to be high. With the world still facing a global chip shortage, this demand is even expected to outstrip supply. Should stocks run short, users are advised to signal their interest in obtaining the new cards via the TNG eWallet app. Users will then be notified when more cards will be available for purchase.

Similar to the current cards, the upgraded TNG card can be used for cashless payments across all use-cases including toll highways, public transportation services, and over 700 parking sites in Peninsular Malaysia.
