According to Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan, the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) has received 2,760,930 forms of various categories through e-filing submission, up to May 13.

He added saying that the amount of tax submission sees an increase of 9.8% compared to the same period last year.

Ahmad said that the e-filing method had been the primary channel for people to submit their income tax return forms.

People generally prefer using e-filing system as it is hassle-free and they are able to keep an online record of the submission made, which they can access at any time.

Ahmad also said that 32 Revenue Service Centres had been set up nationwide to support the operations of the current 36 IRB main branches in the country.
