The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) has updated its Investor Alert List this week. This list contains the names of unauthorised websites, investment products, companies and individuals. This serves as a cautionary warning to Malaysians regarding the trustworthiness of certain companies and investment opportunities.
Please take note that this list is not exhaustive and only serves as a guide to investors prior to making any investment decisions.
The following people/entities were added to the list as at 29 August 2023:
- MyCryptoversity / Beranikripto
- Pelaburan Saham
- (AAA) Labur Saham Syariah
- Team Sahabat Invest
- Silver Aspire 248
Some of the suspicious activities that these listed entities are committing include:
- Persons carrying on or holding themselves out as carrying on the following regulated activities without a licence from the SC:
- dealing in securities
- dealing in derivatives
- fund management
- advising on corporate finance
- investment advice
- financial planning, and
- dealing in private retirement schemes
- Persons operating a recognised market without authorisation
- Persons issuing or offering securities without approval, authorisation or recognition
- Persons misusing the SC’s logo and misrepresenting the SC
