travel with 5G roaming

Planning to travel overseas soon? Well, if you’re a Digi user, you can now enjoy 5G unlimited data when you’re visiting Japan or Korea with Digi’s new unlimited 5G roaming plan.

An update to Digi’s international data roaming plans, the new plan is now priced at RM98 for 30 days and can be used in 57 countries. Previously, the telco company offered a World Traveller roaming pass at RM95 which gives you 30GB of data and 30 minutes of calls.

The countries covered under the new Unlimited Internet Pass include:
AustraliaGhanaMaltaSri Lanka
AustriaGreeceMyanmarSpain
BangladeshHong KongNepalSweden
BelgiumHungaryNew ZealandSwitzerland
BruneiIndiaNetherlandsSaudi Arabia
CanadaIndonesiaNorwaySouth Africa
CambodiaIrelandOmanTaiwan
ChinaItalyPakistanThailand
Czech RepublicJapanPhilippinesTurkey
DenmarkKoreaPortugalUAE
EstoniaLaosQatarUSA

Digi claims that the new plan offers the most affordable data roaming for travellers, and the best local operator will be automatically for users. In certain countries, you can even have the option to roam with multiple local telcos. Though the 5G roaming will be available only in selected countries and supported 5G networks.

While the plan does say “unlimited”, it’s important to note that it still has to follow the Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of 2GB of high-speed data per day.

That means that once you’ve hit the daily limit of 2GB data usage, the speed will be reduced to up to 1Mbps. However, for activities like web browsing, navigation, and social media, this won’t affect your usage at all.

If you need a shorter-term option, Digi also offers a seven-day Unlimited Internet Pass for RM58 but it only covers 20 countries within Asia.
