TNB’s Power Tracker App To Be Launched In May

Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) consumers will be able to track their power usage on their mobile phones with an application that will be launched in May 2016.

TNB’s Power Tracker App would allow consumers to determine their desired consumption with just a click. This will be particularly helpful for landlords to monitor the power usage of their tenants and also to check if there are any outstanding bills unpaid by their tenants.

The app is part of a new, self-service portal that provides additional services such as bill payments for both corporate and residential consumers. It also allows consumers to use a single sign-in to access 11 online services, including change of tenancy that previously needed separate logins.

Using this app, corporate clients would be able to settle their bulk payment through this method without having to do so at payment counters.

In near future, this app would progress into a system where consumers can manage their power usage by using their mobile phone or desktop from anywhere to switch off their electrical appliances. TNB assures that more applications would be designed in future to provide convenience to their consumers.

Besides that, consumers also can opt for ‘self meter reading’ where they can check their estimated power consumption and update the information online. TNB will verify the readings posted by consumers to evaluate if they match the actual billing pattern. TNB will then email the verified electricity bill to consumers who can then pay online or use other forms of payment.
