Shopback Launches Shopback Pay

Shopback has launched a new product offering allowing their users to get cashback while shopping offline. The new Shopback Pay function allows customers to collect cashback rewards when they shop in-store at participating merchants, whereas previously they could only earn cashback online.

The Shopback Pay function requires users to link their debit or credit cards in the app as a payment option in order to make use of it.

Shopback first launched their PayLater function in August last year, a Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) solution that allows users to split their payments into three interest-free monthly installments. The new Shopback Pay functionality can be combined with the BNPL to allow users to claim their cashback and other rewards.

According to Eddy Han, the General Manager of Shopback, the launch of Shopback Pay is in line with the company’s main attracting force, the cashback function.

“Cashback has always been the unique proposition of ShopBack – to date, Malaysian users have earned more than RM200 million worth of cashback with ShopBack. We want to continue to deliver on this by allowing consumers to also earn cashback when they shop in-store.”

“This milestone comes at an opportune moment, aligning with our mission to make ShopBack the most rewarding way to shop. ShopBack aims to be the go-to solution for demand generation and conversion for merchants, as well as for our shoppers to leverage our network of partners to stretch their dollar amidst rising costs and inflationary pressures,” said Han.

As mentioned above, Shopback’s new Shopback Pay function will allow Shopback users to allow customers to enjoy cashback rewards while shopping at participating merchants in Shopback’s network, including big name stores such as Christy Ng, Jovian, JD Sports, Agoda, Puma, and many more.
