Paynet, the company behind DuitNow and DuitNow QR recently launched the MY TouristPay App. This new app will allow tourists in Malaysia to make payments using the DuitNow QR function.
MY TouristPay App is the first mobile payment app available for people who are visiting Malaysia from abroad.
How do I use MY TouristPay?
How the app works is by allowing users to credit or debit card information onto the platform. The users’ credit or debit information will be used to make payment through the existing DuitNow QR payment system.
According to PayNet’s CEO, Farhan Ahmad, the launch of MY TouristPay App will boost the sale of over 1.9 million DuitNow QR code merchants.
“We expect this initiative to significantly boost sales for small and medium-sized businesses in Malaysia who currently don’t accept cards,” he said.
As this app allows tourists to make cashless payments, it can also greatly reduce the risks of theft. Tourists will no longer have to carry copious amounts of cash with them while travelling.

How do I download MY TouristPay App?
- The MY TouristPay App is currently available on Malaysia’s Google Playstore and will be coming soon on your Apple App Store and Huawei App Stores
- You need to make sure that your account location setting is set for Malaysia, and you also need to ensure that your phone’s operating system is updated.
- If you’re an Android user, you need to ensure that your Android version is updated to at least Ver 10.0.
- If you can’t find it in the Google Playstore, you might have to set your filter for “New”.
Where can I use the MY TouristPay App?
- You can use MY TouristPay App at any shops or merchants that accepts DuitNow QR as a payment method.
Can I use MY TouristPay outside of Malaysia?
- No, you can only use MY TouristPay’s scan and pay function in Malaysia.
