KKM Denies Rumors Of Increasing Clinic Fees

The Health Ministry (KKM) has categorically denied any truth to the rumors that they will be increasing the fees of their government clinic services.

This comes from a viral Tiktok video stating that under the instruction of the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, government clinics will be increasing the fees for their services, from RM1.00 to RM10.00 or even RM15.00.

In a Facebook post yesterday, KKM stated that they have never released any official information about any increase in government clinic fees.

“We advise everyone to exercise caution when disseminating information and always verify its accuracy before sharing it with others,” it said.

Last year, then Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin had highlighted in parliament about the current fee structure in government clinics as unsustainable.

In a written reply in parliament, Khairy stated that the government’s collection from the RM1 and RM5 medical fees, only accounted for only one per cent of the amount spent on public health care.
