Car Parade To Be Held In KK To Celebrate 60th Malaysia Day

In conjunction with the upcoming Malaysia Day celebrations, Car & Urban Lifestyle Trends (CULT) are organising a car parade that will showcase over 400 cars in Kota Kinabalu.

The parade will be held at Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) this Sunday (Sept 17), a day after the actual Malaysia Day on Saturday (Sept 16).

The parade is made possible thanks to a collaboration of eighteen car clubs and communities who are set to participate in the parade, which is aimed to spark public interest in the automotive culture.

According to The Star’s report, CULT’s member John Kong met with Sabah Tourism Board chairman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai to brief him on the CULT Malaysia Day Parade and its upcoming car show.

He shared that the club’s primary goal is to foster patriotism and unity for Malaysia with this landmark event. Kong also told the media that there will also be participants from countries like Thailand and Indonesia at the event.

Other than the car parade, John Kong told reporters that visitors can also look forward to other activities, which includes best dressed awards, activities for children, and an auto show.

Meanwhile, Datuk Joniston Bangkuai Joniston, who is also State Assistant Tourism, Culture, and Environment Minister, said that the event will be very significant for the cultural landscape of Borneo.

“In our pursuit of showcasing Sabah’s vibrant culture and diverse attractions, it’s essential for Sabah Tourism Board to actively support and promote such homegrown events that not only enrich our cultural tapestry but also contribute to the growth of our tourism industry,” Datuk Joniston Bangkuai told the local news daily.
