Rapid KL, the operator for Kuala Lumpur’s rail transit and bus service has announced extended operating hours on New Year’s Eve. For 31 December 2023, they will be extending the operating hours for selected rail transit and bus lines.
According to the Facebook post, for the New Year’s Eve celebrations, several selected rail transit and bus routes, and their stations will be extended until 1.30am on the 31st December 2023.
Selected LRT, MRT, Monorail and BRT to operate until 1:30am
The list of stations and bus and rail transit routes that will be extended is as follows;
- LRT Kelana Jaya Line (Masjid Jamek and KLCC station),
- Ampang/Sri Petaling Line (Bandaraya, Masjid Jamek, IOI Puchong Jaya and Maluri station),
- KL Monorail (Bukit Bintang Station),
- MRT Kajang Line (Bukit Bintang, TRX, Maluri, Cochrane station) and,
- MRT Putrajaya line (TRX station).
- BRT Sunway Line (Sunway Lagoon, SunMed, SunU-Monash station)
The operating hours for transit stations will also be extended. This is to allow visitors to transit from one line to another. Rapid KL will be adding extra manpower to each station to assist in operational needs.
Rapid KL also recommended visitors to use Touch n’ Go cards to pay for their trip to reduce congestion at the station.
