All 25 licensed Haj pilgrimage operators will continue offering Rahmah packages that cost less than RM50,000, as announced by Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) executive director Datuk Seri Syed Saleh Syed Abdul Rahman.
According to a report from Bernama, Datuk Seri Syed Saleh stated that the 25 companies that are licensed to operate Haj pilgrimage trips assured him that they will comply with the government’s request to offer the Rahmah package this year.
Rahmah package to cost below RM50,000
The Rahmah package for Haj pilgrimage is targeted for prospective pilgrims who chose not to go on the Haj pilgrimage through the TH Muassasah Package.
In comparison, last year, the cost for a Muassasah pilgrimage package through TH will cost at most RM30,850, which means that prospective pilgrims will only have to add on a little more for the Rahmah Package.
The Muassasah package is reserved for prospective pilgrims that are called up by TH to perform their Haj pilgrimage for any respective year, which means that people who are not on the call-up list, cannot opt for the Muassasah pilgrimage package.
At the same time, Datuk Seri Syed Saleh also urged prospective pilgrims to only consider packages offered by the 25 licensed operators, and no one else.
He said that this is to avoid prospective pilgrims falling victim to scams or getting less than satisfactory services.
Muassasah package price for this year to be released soon
Syed Saleh also added that TH will soon release the pricing for the Muassasah package this year, and will also issue offer letters to those selected to perform their Haj pilgrimage this year.
In a previous report from Malay Mail, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Mohd Na’im Mokhtar stated that Saudi Arabia has set the quota at 31,600 pilgrims for Malaysia for the upcoming Haj season.
