You Can Now Use GrabPay DuitNow QR Throughout Malaysia
Due to the challenges of living through a pandemic, a high number of Malaysians have adopted cashless and contactless payment in order to help them navigate through the new norm while minimizing contact with other people.
According to statistics from a Bank Negara report, the usage of e-wallet payments rose by 131% since 2019. Even the number of merchants that accept e-wallet payments have increased by 165% since 2019. This shows that Malaysians are gradually getting more open to the idea of e-wallet payments, and the cashless and contactless lifestyle.
To assist with this transition, GrabPay, Grab’s e-wallet app recently launched the “GrabPay DuitNow QR”. The DuitNow QR also doubles as a Malaysian national QR, meaning that every merchant and consumer in Malaysia can use it with ease.
“We see many opportunities at Grab to encourage businesses of all sizes to digitalise and embrace digital payments. In the past year, we have welcomed a wide variety of merchants to the platform, from small businesses to large nationwide chains and many consumer goods Brands,” said Priyanka Madan, the Head of GrabPay, Grab Malaysia.
For consumers, the DuitNow QR will help them to reduce physical contact and even save their time by removing the hassle of cash payments.
The DuitNow QR also comes with a host of features when you use GrabPay DuitNow, such as Grab’s Merchant Discovery, GrabRewards and Save with Points features.
The consumer just has to launch the Grab app, open the QR scanner and scan any DuitNow QR code to pay.
