Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced this morning that a special RM500 Hari Raya aid will be granted to civil servants in Grade 56 and below.
The Prime Minister made the announcement this morning, according to a report from New Straits Times.
In his announcement, Anwar also stated that the aid will also be given to civil servants on contractual appointments, and will be delivered starting this (5 April 2024).
Not only that, retirees and veterans will also enjoy their own windfall, with RM250 set to be granted to them.
The announcement follows the Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) call for Hari Raya aid to be granted to civil servants.
Cuepacs President, Datuk Adnan Mat has stated that the aid will not only help the civil servants, but will also drum up business.
