‘Ouch!’ First Digital Takaful Operator Aims To Shake Up The Industry

‘Ouch!’ is bringing digital transformation to Malaysia’s takaful industry, so that more Malaysians can get protected at all times easily. The provider aims to do this by digitising the takaful and insurance process, armed with their status as the first digital takaful operator recognised by the Bank Negara Malaysia Regulatory Sandbox programme.

One of ‘Ouch!’s main goals is to revolutionise the traditional takaful process by using technology to streamline the processes involved in a traditional takaful application process. This allows for a more accessible, efficient, and affordable experience for users when they are looking for the perfect takaful plan for them.

According to statistics released by the finance ministry, 60 percent of Malaysians still do not have adequate takaful or insurance protection for emergencies. This shows a tragic lack of awareness when it comes to the importance of takaful and insurance among Malaysians.

Refer your friends and win great rewards

And as part of their launch, ‘Ouch!’ is also launching a campaign called the Kita Cover Challenge this Ramadan, which will allow ‘Ouch!’ users can refer their friends to the platform, and gain great rewards and cash prizes of up to RM2500 for 25 successful referrals.

Speaking about the impact that ‘Ouch!’ can bring to the Malaysian takaful industry, ‘Ouch!’s CEO Shazy Noorazman stated that their main goal is to reach the 20 million Malaysians still without any form of coverage or protection from any takaful plans.

“Which is why at Ouch!, everything is digitised to make the process easier and less complicated. With our innovative back-end processes, we promote better engagement with our participants to use the platform to obtain information and manage their takaful plans. We are providing a truly affordable, transparent, and efficient takaful solution for all Malaysians,” he said.
