AirAsia Launches Low Fares For Chinese New Year

AirAsia has announce special promotional Chinese New Year fares for flights between Peninsular and East Malaysia.

In a press release on their website, AirAsia said that for Chinese New Year, the flights available are flights between Kuala Lumpur and Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu or Miri, as well as between Johor Bahru and Kuching, Sibu or Miri which are priced at RM298 one-way.

The low fares announcement also brings with it flights between Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan or Tawau, also between Johor Bahru and Kota Kinabalu at RM348 one-way.

The tickets can be purchased now, and the fixed low fares will be available for flights between 5 to 15 February 2024.

According to the Group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group, Bo Lingam, AirAsia is committed to strengthening their support in flying their guests back home for Chinese New Year.

“Today, we are pleased to reintroduce the fixed low fares for late-night flights between Peninsular and East Malaysia with around 25,000 seats for the upcoming festive period,” said Lingam.

Lingam also stated that the government’s support has been crucial in empowering them to continue making travel accessible to everyone, which is backed by the Transport Minister, Anthony Loke.

Anthony Loke said that the Transport Ministry is pleased to see that AirAsia continues to support the government’s initiatives to ensure Malaysians can travel with affordable and reasonable fares, especially during festive periods.

“The airline’s fixed low fares initiative is also in line with the government’s FLYsiswa programme to subsidise RM300 for the purchase of flight tickets for public university students and the RM599 base-fare subsidy scheme for the purchase of one-way economy class flight tickets to East Malaysia as announced last year,” said the Transport Minister.

The press release also highly recommended travellers to self check-in using the AirAsia Super App, which is available as early as 14 days before the departure date.
