Job Description

Background:
This role is best suited to someone who thrives on a changing environment and who enjoys the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment. The ability to adapt, think out of the box, be self-motivated and have keen attention to detail are vital.

Key responsibilities:

  • Write, edit and proofread the team's content including articles, infographics, videos, surveys, newsletters and social postings
  • Lead the content direction and editorial plan for the team and ensure they are executed in a timely manner while maintaining quality of the team's content
  • Monitor and measure the success of each content published, and analyse the data for future story ideas
  • Manage the timeline of content publication and distribution via different channels i.e. social media, newsletters
  • Provide support and guidance to the content team
  • Build on your contact base with economists, politicians, financial planners and other related organisations
  • Source for content contributors and freelance writers, if needed, and manage the relationship with contributors and freelancers
  • Explore new types of content to increase interactivity with readers i.e. quiz, poll, interactive infographic
  • Appreciate the role of sponsored content, both editorially and commercially
  • Manage/oversee the development of sponsored content by working closely with the Business Development team
  • Act as liaison between content and other departments such as CRM, Business Development, Paid Marketing
  • Ensure grammatical and factual accuracy, as well as guard editorial standards

Skills & Requirements

  • A minimum of four years of editorial experience and at least one year in the role of an editor
  • Knowledge of South East Asia consumer behaviour is desirable
  • Ability to manage a team
  • To be equipped with digital media knowledge, such as publishing platforms, social media, SEO and basic Google Analytics
  • Interest in and knowledge of general consumer finance topics is highly advantageous
  • Excellent English skills and preferably experience of writing for digital media
  • Strong work ethic, with an excellent track record of delivering content in a coherent editorial policy framework
  • Resourceful and ambitious for yourself and for your team
  • A problem solver who is dynamic, motivated and process oriented with the determination to succeed
  • Ability to work independently as well as being a team player
