Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that all civil servants<\/a> at grade 56 and below – including those on contract – will receive an incentive payment of RM2,000 on 23 February.<\/p>\n

Additionally,\u00a0government retirees (including veterans of the armed forces) will receive an incentive of RM1,000 on the same day. This extra incentive also extends to all uniformed bodies, including the police, fire department, and military.<\/p>\n

The incentive was originally promised to civil servants at the end of February to ease the financial burden of the start of the school year, and was intended to be distributed through the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA). However, it has been released early while the government awaits the final report on the readiness of the SSPA.<\/p>\n

Originally announced during the Budget 2024 tabling, full implementation of the SSPA is expected to happen in 2025.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
