Zurich Malaysia and Senang.io have just announced a new strategic partnership with Malaysia\u2019s pioneering Islamic Bank, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (Bank Islam). <\/span><\/p>\n

This partnership resulted in the delivery of takaful solutions through the Be U by Bank Islam app.\u00a0<\/span>Through this collaboration, a new inaugural product called \u201cMicrotakaful for Gig Workers\u201d was unveiled.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Protection empowerment for gig workers<\/span><\/h2>\n

This product seeks to empower gig workers with comprehensive options like
\n– on-demand services
\n– medical coverage
\n– a user-friendly in-app claim management platform<\/p>\n

These tailor made takaful services are specifically designed to fit in with the dynamic schedules and individual needs of the gig community.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAs the gig economy continues to grow, it is important that we cater to the protection needs of the participants. Together with our partners, we will create a brighter and more secure future,” said Shamsul Azman, Chief Executive Officer, Zurich General Takaful.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Be U By Bank Islam app will also seamlessly integrate the diverse range of takaful products, ensuring accessibility and simplicity for all users.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Protection for a vulnerable segment of workers<\/span><\/h2>\n

\u201cThe new microtakaful offering, facilitated through OpenAPIs, seamlessly integrates gig work protection within the app, enabling users to conveniently access takaful add-ons and process claims directly through the platform. <\/span><\/p>\n

“The inclusion of microtakaful solutions within the app enriches the gig economy, offering peace of mind and financial protection to a vulnerable segment of workers, making it easily accessible in times of unexpected challenges,\u201d said Noor Farilla Abdullah, Bank Islam Group Chief Digital Officer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Senang.io and Bank Islam have made it known that they have ambitious plans to introduce even more takaful products as part of the collaboration within the next three years.
