{"id":60500,"date":"2023-12-27T13:09:20","date_gmt":"2023-12-27T05:09:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.imoney.my\/articles\/?p=60500"},"modified":"2023-12-27T18:09:30","modified_gmt":"2023-12-27T10:09:30","slug":"securities-commission-investor-alert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.imoney.my\/articles\/securities-commission-investor-alert","title":{"rendered":"Securities Commissions Adds Three New Names To Investor Alert List"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Securities Commission (SC), Malaysia\u2019s sole regulator of the capital markets, has updated their Investor Alert list, with three new names in the list.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SC updated on this yesterday (Tuesday), notifying investors of these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sc.com.my\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">three new names<\/a> on the list;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bintang Capital = Potential clone entity<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sahabat Trader<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TDX Global Technologies = Potential clone entity.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Operating-without-licence-running-a-clone-firm-scam-among-top-alerts\"><\/span>Operating without licence, running a clone firm scam among top alerts<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sc.com.my\/regulation\/enforcement\/investor-alerts\/sc-investor-alerts\/investor-alert-list\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Investor Alert<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> list is a list issued by the SC that includes the name of entities, companies and persons that are operating in the markets without proper authorization, participating in activities that are regulated without a licence, or misusing and misrepresenting SC\u2019s logo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A potential clone entity is an entity that might be running a \u2018<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestar.com.my\/business\/business-news\/2022\/05\/31\/sc-discloses-findings-on-clone-firm-scams-to-increase-investor-awareness\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">clone firm scam<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019, a scam where a fraudulent person or entity impersonates a legitimate or licenced entity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re looking to make any type of investment or get involved in any market activity, make sure that the company you\u2019re working with holds a valid licence and authorization from SC before doing anything.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Over-240-names-added-to-list-in-2023\"><\/span>Over 240 names added to list in 2023<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In 2023, over 240 names have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imoney.my\/articles\/investor-alert-list-update-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">added by SC to the list until December<\/a>. The list is updated periodically for the public\u2019s reference.
