Thanks to a latest venture from Yinson Greentech, Malaysians now have the opportunity to own their own electric motorcycle with RydeEV.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yinson Greentech launched RydeEV along with the RydeEV Experience Centre in Petaling Jaya. This8,000 square feet centre serves as a one-stop destination for all things RydeEV.<\/span><\/p>\n

The launch<\/a> last week was officiated by the Minister of Investment, Trade & Industry (MITI), YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Aziz.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAs Malaysia proactively courts investments in green tech innovations and solutions, we also aim to create opportunities for our SMEs, particularly through the development of a holistic, low-carbon mobility ecosystem as outlined by our National Automotive Policy,\u201d said Tengku Zafrul at the launch.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Only available exclusively with battery swapping<\/span><\/h2>\n

Unlike any other electric motorcycle offerings out there, RydeEV is not a straightforward electric motorcycle manufacturer or distributor. Instead, they provide electric motorcycles through the usage of batteries, provided by Oyika, a Singapore-based startup.<\/span><\/p>\n

RydeEV has been operating in Indonesia since 2020, where Oyika\u2019s batteries have been converted to run on 19 electric motorcycles models.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, one important thing to note is that RydeEV\u2019s motorcycles work EXCLUSIVELY through battery swapping, which means that you can\u2019t recharge the batteries.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>Customer to pick their lease-to-own programme<\/span><\/h2>\n

In Malaysia, RydeEV currently offers two programmes for the general public, the RydeEV Ryder and the RydeEV Hyper. These motorcycles are only available in a lease-to-own model, at these prices;<\/span><\/p>\n
