{"id":57688,"date":"2023-08-09T14:16:48","date_gmt":"2023-08-09T06:16:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.imoney.my\/articles\/?p=57688"},"modified":"2023-08-09T17:23:31","modified_gmt":"2023-08-09T09:23:31","slug":"5g-rahmah-postpaid-for-malaysians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.imoney.my\/articles\/5g-rahmah-postpaid-for-malaysians","title":{"rendered":"What Is the 5G Rahmah Postpaid Data Plan For Malaysians?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Malaysians will be able to enjoy fast internet for their mobile phones at affordable prices with the announcement of the\u00a0 5G Rahmah postpaid plans.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement came from Fahmi Fadzil, the Minister of Communications and Digital, through a post on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Fahmi.Fadzil.1\/posts\/pfbid02WBqxdKmuJ7nz3K212GTgcZ3TB3anb4XTUKLn4376ZLHSTEFFgDmaftUfRTbxiW8Ul\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">official Facebook account<\/a>, alongside an official statement from the government.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In conjunction with the Merdeka Month, the ministry is working together with the Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), telco providers including two device manufacturers &#8211; Samsung and Honor &#8211; will be offering the 5G Rahmah Package and the Civil Servants Rahmah Postpaid Incentive.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Both are cheaper Internet service packages than existing ones in the market.\u201d said the minister in the statement provided.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5G-Rahmah-package-priced-at-RM60-and-RM120-per-month\"><\/span>5G Rahmah package priced at RM60 and RM120 per month<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The five major telcos, Maxis, CelcomDigi, TM, U Mobile and Yes have issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bernama.com\/en\/news.php?id=2214179\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">joint statement<\/a> in support of this initiative.<\/p>\n<p>The postpaid package will be available with the following specifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rahmah 5G costing RM60 per month for 60GB of data<\/li>\n<li>Option to get the Samsung Galaxy A14 or an HONOR 90 Lite for one time fee of RM240<\/li>\n<li>First 100,000 B40 Malaysians can buy the data plan + 5G smartphone for RM120 (comes with 24-month postpaid plan contract)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, the Rahmah Civil Servants Postpaid Incentive was also announced for civil servants. This incentive provides a monthly RM10 rebate on all existing telco plans, giving users a savings of RM120 per year.<\/p>\n<p>All of the 5G Rahmah plans and incentives are expected to be available starting from Merdeka Day, 31 August.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Allo-Rahmah-Fixed-Broadband-package\"><\/span>Allo Rahmah Fixed Broadband package<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Earlier in July, the Communications Ministry, together with Tenaga Nasional Bhd and Allo Technology Sdn Bhd had also launched the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcmc.gov.my\/en\/media\/announcements\/faq-pakej-perpaduan-jalur-lebar-tetap-home-int-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Allo Fixed Broadband Initiative.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said that Allo\u2019s Rahmah plan will provide internet service with unlimited data. This comes with a 24-month contract.<\/p>\n<p>The plan will save subscribers RM30.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tnb.com.my\/assets\/newsclip\/29072023c2.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Subscribers will pay RM69<\/a>, compared to the normal RM99 package offered with a speed of 100 megabits per second.<\/p>\n<p>The target groups for this plan are the B40, senior citizens, personnel of Armed Forces, Royal Malaysia Police, maritime enforcement agency, as well as persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Considering upgrading your home internet?
