Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has recently made the announcement that it will be closing down several roads in Kuala Lumpur in order to make way for renovations and construction. <\/span><\/p>\n

These roads include the Sungai Besi Road leading to Sungai Besi or Petaling Jaya (opposite Fraser Business Park) and Loke Yew roundabout. The closure will begin on 5 August 2023 and will last up to a year.<\/span><\/p>\n

According DBKL\u2019s statement statement, road users looking for an alternative route can use a traffic diversion from the Kampung Pandan roundabout to Sungai Besi or Petaling Jaya which will be diverted into two parts, namely through the road next to Federal Bakery and enter the contra route in the adjacent lane.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Traffic from Sungai Besi or Petaling Jaya heading to the Kampung Pandan roundabout will be diverted to the left via the Loke Yew roundabout.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Since the Loke Yew roundabout will be closed, traffic from Cheras heading to Jalan Loke Yew is only allowed to make a U-turn towards Cheras again and this traffic route is permanent,” according to the statement.<\/span><\/p>\n

DBKL also made mention that traffic from\u00a0 Jalan Kinabalu towards Jalan Loke Yew and Jalan Sungai Besi will be diverted to Jalan Yew towards the Pudu roundabout only. In addition, road users seeking an alternative route can use the U-turn at SMK (P) Pudu.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Jalan Yew traffic route from the Kampung Pandan roundabout to Jalan Kinabalu and Jalan Kuching will also be closed during the construction period. An alternative path can be found through Jalan Kampung Pandan, Jalan Imbi and Jalan Hang Tuah.<\/span><\/p>\n

The slip road from Jalan Pudu to Jalan Yew would be closed to all traffic as well in order to make way for the demolition of the drawbridge and reconstruction of the bridge at the Pudu roundabout towards Jalan Sungai Besi.<\/span><\/p>\n

To sum it up, alternative routes go through Jalan Sungai Besi, Jalan Chan Sow Lin, Jalan One, Jalan Dua and Jalan Tiga. Drivers are advised to follow and obey all signage, traffic rules, and traffic police to ensure a safe and smooth traversal.<\/span><\/p>\n
