Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM) today launched their second #SediaPayungKewangan campaign, to advocate for better financial resilience among Malaysians.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year’s campaign featured a new addition of a social media account for PIDM\u2019s good financial management icon, Chief BerUang\u2019s Instagram handle <\/span>@chief.beruang<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The #SediaPayungKewangan campaign will include various on-ground and digital events available for the public starting today, until 30th September 2022. There will be<\/span>\u00a0roadshows in four states, starting with the Klang Valley and travelling south to Seremban, Melaka, Johor to cover 25 locations in 21 days.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the Executive Vice President of PIDM, Wan Ahmad Ikram Wan Ahmad Lotfi, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic combined with recent economic uncertainties has highlighted just how important financial literacy is in surviving these trying times.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe want Malaysians to know that they don’t have to wait for a life-impacting event like the pandemic to find out whether they are financially resilient or not, and to start getting their personal finances in order. Our #SediaPayungKewangan campaign is aimed at building Malaysians’ resilience through financial knowledge,\u201d said Wan Ahmad Ikram at the event\u2019s launch.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe will also leverage on Chief BerUang, PIDM’s good financial management icon, as a medium to convey messages on the importance of good financial management in a new series of animated videos which feature him as a talkshow host. Members of the public can also follow Chief BerUang on his new Instagram account <\/span>@chief.beruang<\/span><\/a> for financial tips and info, and easy-to-consume financial literacy contents,\u201d added Wan Ahmad Ikram.<\/span><\/p>\n

The #SediaPayungKewangan campaign particularly targets millennials at every life stage such as working singles, working married couples with and without children, and others. The aim of this campaign is to drive conversation regarding their financial status among the public, to help them be better informed and prepared for financial emergencies.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the biggest highlights of this campaign is the microsite\u2019s <\/span>SPK Calculator<\/span><\/a>, an interactive tool that considers an individual\u2019s income and expenses and informs how much they would need to save up for emergencies. The tool is free to use and doesn\u2019t require any registration. Anyone who is keen to build an emergency fund can use the SPK Calculator to assess their own financial adequacy to cover for rainy days. <\/span>The microsite is also home to videos and articles to guide readers to be more financially resilient.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
