{"id":37018,"date":"2019-01-14T17:22:54","date_gmt":"2019-01-14T09:22:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.imoney.my\/articles\/?p=37018"},"modified":"2019-01-14T17:40:23","modified_gmt":"2019-01-14T09:40:23","slug":"fair-wealth-distribution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.imoney.my\/articles\/fair-wealth-distribution","title":{"rendered":"Fair Wealth Distribution For All Malaysians, Says PM"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"slcontent_0_sleft_0_storyDiv\" class=\"story\">Malaysia&#8217;s Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohamad revealed that he wants the country&#8217;s wealth to be fairly distributed so that all Malaysians can reap the benefits.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from that, the Prime Minister also expressed that he is concerned about poverty issues in the country.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We must, to the best of our ability, ensure fairness and help all Malaysians,&#8221; the Prime Minister was quoted as saying.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We must be responsible and to ensure equal distribution of wealth, or at least to a level acceptable to all,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister also noted that poverty issues must be addressed as it is happening across all ethnicities in Malaysia.<\/p>\n<p>According to Tun Mahathir, the general perception that the Bumiputeras are the ones suffering the most from poverty is untrue.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Poverty is happening across all races. Therefore, we should instead focus on poverty at all races. We shouldn&#8217;t think that our rights are only equal when it comes to voting for the government. We don&#8217;t want this country to look rich, but wealth is not distributed fairly,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Tun Mahathir also encouraged the people to work together as if they are of the same race, instead of segregating themselves.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We found that today different races are not as united as we hoped for when we achieved Independence, there are still people prefer to relate themselves with their ancestry country origin,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have to combine all races, where we can see all races everywhere. With this, I believe that the country will be better, this is what we learn from history. So I hope everybody, including politicians and political party to learn from the history in preserving peace and harmony in this country,&#8221; he added.<\/p><\/div>\n<div
