Deo also said that no more time extensions would be given.<\/p>\n<p>The minister had originally directed ISPs to submit proposals for lower broadband plan prices by the end of August; but that passed with little movement from any of the major players. Telekom Malaysia announced a new 100Mbps UniFi connection for RM129;\u00a0although it still\u00a0missed the 30 August deadline.<\/p>\n<p>Now, these ISPs will have to submit new proposals for cheaper broadband plans by 30 September. No further extensions\u00a0are being offered.<\/p>\n<p>The reasoning for the current extension is supposedly due to the Malaysia Communications and Multimedia Commission being busy with the implementation of the Sales and Services Tax.
