Budget 2018 is expected to deliver a wide range of incentives, said RHB Research Institute, adding that the government might increase expenditure next year by 4.3% to RM269.3 billion from an estimated RM258.2 billion in 2017.

The research house is predicting that perks for ride-sharing services as well as a higher allocation for education are on the cards.

It also didn’t discount a focus on Industry 4.0 as well as promoting high-technology industries in areas of automation, robotic development, big data and cloud computing.

Other areas of concern include affordable housing, salary increment and benefits for civil servants, extension of BR1M, assistance for Felda settlers, and more tax reliefs.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who is also finance minister, is expected to table the budget on October 27.
